Sources & credits
Each record provides a route to verification rather than pretending one bibliography fits every institution.
Institutional starting points
Use the official sites of the Grand Egyptian Museum, Egyptian Museum in Cairo, National Museum of Egyptian Civilization, and Egypt’s monuments portal. The Nubian record also begins with UNESCO’s campaign documentation.
Record-level scholarship
Institutional histories are compared with scholarship on the Antiquities Service, collection transfer and provenance; Marcus Simaika and Coptic heritage; Luxor Museum and Theban excavation; UNESCO projects and Nubian displacement; civilization museums; and the GEM architectural competition and conservation program.
Update policy
Institution type, opening history and broad scope are treated as relatively stable. Hours, prices, galleries, object locations, photography, entrances and accessible routes are live fields and are not frozen into the record.
